Discover Güssing Castle, a highlight for all those who enjoy excursions into the past. The castle towers over the idyllic landscape of southern Burgenland and offers an impressive view from the castle hill over the town of Güssing, the Güssing fish ponds Ramsar area and far into the Hungarian lowlands.
At the castle museum, you can embark on an exciting journey through time. Immerse yourself in the castle’s impressive past, which is preserved and documented by the museum in the stronghold.
A comprehensive collection – from the ancestral portrait gallery to the weapons collection – illustrates the glorious history of the Batthyánys, a powerful Hungarian dynasty.
The large castle courtyard surprises with its spaciousness. A place to relax and linger. It is also transformed into a spectacular open-air stage every summer and is the venue for musical performances and various other events.
